Is Bottled Water Better Than Tap - Find Out What Current Studies Say
Venkata Krishnan Rajagopalan

Many people ask themselves the question: is bottled water better than tap water? It definitely is a common question because many people actually have the idea that bottle water is healthier. We have all heard about the dangers in tap supply with all the nasty contaminants that are so often present, but can you really enjoy better by purchasing water sold in a bottle? It is definitely a question that should be explored.

Many studies have been done to find out the answer to the question, is bottled supply better than tap water. One conservation group, the World Wildlife Fund recently ran some studies and came to the conclusion that in many countries, bottled drinking water probably is not really safer or better for you than the tap water.

So many people choose water sealed in a bottle because they are afraid of drinking their water directly from the tap, and rightly so. This industry is growing quickly across the world, and people spend thousands of dollars on bottled water. The problem is that in many cases, the main difference between tap and bottle is that one comes in pipes while the other comes to you in plastic bottles.

Is bottled water better than tap water? Well, in some cases this may not be the case. The standards on tap water are often stricter than those on the bottling industry, which makes you wonder what could actually be in that bottle that you are drinking all the time.

Another problem there is with this bottle is that this water comes in plastic bottles. While in these bottles, some studies have shown that chemicals from the plastic can be released into the water, which means you are still taking in chemicals when you are drinking bottled water instead of from the tap. Then you have to think about the pollution that plastic bottles cause, since toxic chemicals often are released into the air in disposal and manufacture of these plastic bottles.

While you may have been thinking that bottle was the better option, this is not necessarily the case. Bottled water may not be the best option. Since you know the answer to the question, is bottled water better than tap water, you need to look for another option to ensure you get good a quality for drinking, such as going with a purification system in your home that can eliminate the chemicals and toxins in the tap. This way you do not have to spend all that money on water sold in a bottle and you can actually ensure you are getting water that does not include harmful contaminants.
